Three new Vivid Imaginations dolls from the Captain Scarlet series.
Captains Scarlet, Blue and Black.
These three dolls have the recorded voice gimmick, each having a number of phrases.
Scarlet and Blue also have light up bulbs on their shoulders as in the show - to indicate radio transmission.
These are rather odd looking figures since the heads are too big. Odd, as the actual puppets were properly proportioned.
Vivid Imaginations seem to like to spoil a good toy. Back in the 90's their Scarlet doll had the right sized head.
These new guys look a little off-colour too. I think they need a vacation.
The dolls are not very poseable. Their arms only move at the shoulders - they must have got them done very cheaply.
They compare very badly with other 12" dolls such as the Star Wars figures or the Sideshow gunfighters.
On the plus side, the equipment supplied with the dolls is far better than the earlier issues.
For example, the cap peak is transparent as it should be, and the microphone can be swung down.
